History of Me

I was born and raised on a farm near the small town of Winkler in Southwestern Manitoba. I spent my young years doing chores and learning much of animals and tractors and farm implements (ie. how not to lose your arm in a PTO shaft). I was also a bit of a geek. Always playing with computers and getting good grades.

For my grade 12 year, my family moved to a new farm near Vita, Manitoba - an even smaller town. After graduating, I attended Steinbach Bible College for 2 years resulting in a diploma of Biblical studies. I then decided that I would go to DeVry and get my Bachelor of Science in Computer Stuff. So I did that, after a long 8 month stint working at a pig barn to raise some cash.
I then spent the next three years working nights and attending class in a zombie-like state. Still managing, however, to graduate magna cum laude (meaning that I got good grades). That led to a job at Guest-tek where I have moved up the ranks from support to software developer.

I met my lovely wife Julene, attending Brentview Baptist church. We were married on May 15th 2004 in her hometown of Bow Island, AB. We have since bought a house in Beddington (Calgary NW).

Most recently (January 2006), I have accepted a job at a small development company starting January 23rd 2006. I will be developing customer relationship management software in PHP.

What I like

I enjoy riding my motorcycles. They have provided me with endless joyous hours of cruising the city. I recently purchased a 1971 Honda CB350 that I plan to restore to a cafe racer.

Guitars are also a hobby. I own an acoustic, a classical and an old f-hole guitar which I have restored to working condition. I would not call myself a master guitarist but I enjoy playing and making stuff up.
I am also a novice snowboarder, beginner photographer, roots music fan, and brother to many.

That is my story in short.
